Welcome to Our Coverage of the 51st Running of the Daytona 500

Today is the second biggest day in racing outside the Indianapolis 500. It is a bog day for this blog and a big day for everyone that covers and follows Motorsports.

Speed has been on the air since 10am (central) and will continue with their prerace coverage until 1pm until the throw it to FOX.

As you probably know our blog went dormant for two years but is now back with the same coverage you have expected from us. We have been covering Daytona all week and now will do coverage of the big day. We will have summaries and other information throught the day including a wrap of our favorite program, Wind Tunnel with Dave Despain which airs 8-9pm (central) on Speed.Dave’s guests tonight include Darrell Waltrip and the 2009 Daytona 500 Winning Car Owner. WT will also have Robin Miller to share his thoughts on the upcoming IndyCar season.

Wendy Venturini has been doing a yeoman’s work this morning interviewing anyone and everyone in the pits.

Here she interviews Carl Edwards about his thoughts and he says he is just tingling with excitement. Yep it’s going to be a big day.
