You Can’t Believe Everything You Read in a News Release
I am sure you have heard the phrase “you can’t believe everything you read.” This is sometimes true of a news release. It seems a news release erroneously reported that Kraig Kinser would race at both the Knoxville Nationals at Knoxville Raceway and the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Kentucky Speedway. Hmm, the schedule says the IRL is at Kentucky and the trucks are south at Nashville Superspeedway this weekend. Could the schedules be wrong? Nope, but two excellent sources for racing news are. SPEED TV is televising both the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and the Knoxville Nationals Saturday but from reading this story on their website http://www.speedtv.com/programs/267 it appears that they are sending their Truck Series crew to Kentucky. One problem, their programming page http://www.speedtv.com/schedule/index.php?m=08&d=12&ts=1155355200&timezone=0&subcat=&program=&usecal=yes says the race is at Nashville. So which is right? Someone at SPEED is not paying attention. Not to be outdone, veteran NASCAR and IRL reporters Steve Ballard and Curt Calvin of the Indianapolis Star also reported Friday that the trucks race at Kentucky. I hope Curt Calvin notices his error when he shows up at Kentucky and finds no trucks this weekend.

You could shuffle through this website and find multiple mistakes made by me. As a writer and photographer, I need to do better for you but I also expect better from SPEED and veteran Indianapolis Star reporters.
