Bobby Santos Claims Toyota USAC Midget 25 3:20pm

WEST ALLIS, Wis. – Bobby Santos held off Billy Wease to win the Toyota USAC Midget 25 Saturday at the Milwaukee Mile. When the green flag dropped Santos was in the lead but a hard charging Wease took the spot away from him on an early restart.

The driver of the No. 4 kept on fighting and passed the No. 80 driven by Billy Wease on lap 12 in turn 1 to regain the lead. Santos would not give it back and led the final 13 laps to win.

Wease finished second and Dave Darland came in 3rd. The 3rd place finish puts the USAC veteran only 17 points behind leader Jerry Coons Jr. Coons finished 6th after starting 10th. Friday’s quick time of 27.999 eclipsed the old track record of 28.261 set by JJ Yeley in 2004.
