FOX Prerace Coverage
The prerace show starts off pretty good
with whip arounds to the various pit reporters who will be covering the days action including Krista Voda.
FOX then promotes the upcoming Keith Urban prerace concert and then an interview with Urban.
This leads us a music video with Keith Urban singing and FOX’s big push on Digger.
Digger is a cartoon creature that was created to promote FOX’s installation on lipstick cameras in racetracks for a different angle. Originally pioneered by Terry Linger and ESPN during USAC races at O’Reilly Raceway Park (back then it is IRP).
Now FOX will have an animated cartoon once a week featuring Digger in their prerace show.
Of course they will be selling Digger gear on various websites including the speed store at SpeedTV.com.
Oh yeah, they also have a Digger comic book for sale.
Thank you capitalism.
Keith Urban now takes the stage. I like his music. He has good taste in women (redheads). But I don’t like where country music is now.
Country is not Nashville, country is LA, entertainment and pop music. Its trendy folks who are good looking who happen to have a banjo. What does a dude from Australia know about the heart of country. He probably knows a lot but my point is that the days of the folks that have lived the country lifestyle becoming top country artists are over.
Now if you are pretty and you can drop a little twang into a song, you are in. Ok.. off the soap box and back to the prerace.
FOX had a few other interesting prerace stories but can’t match their sister at Speed who had three hours of programming. Overall FOX did a good job.
Ok there is the flyby, time to go racing.. gas em up… If you aren’t watching FOX, now is the time to make the move.
