New Series to Utilize Silver Crown™ Style Cars

New Series to Utilize Silver Crown™ Style Cars
A new Open Wheel Series that will utilize the now outdated Silver Crown™ style car could be announced as soon as next week. Sources have informed me that the series could host seven pavement events and possibly involve ex-Open Wheelers who have moved up to NASCAR. The series could also include a field of grass roots Open Wheelers. The new series will not use the name “Silver Crown” in any way. “Silver Crown” is trademarked by the United States Auto Club. Former USAC National Series Coordinator Jason Smith is a scheduled guest on the Autosport Show which will air Tuesday March 14, at 7:00pm eastern. The program can be heard online at www.autosportradio.com and clicking where indicated.

IRL to Pull off “Best Promo Stunt”
The Indy Racing League is scheduled to pull off what was one of the best marketing stunts of 2005 according to the Sports Business Journal. The series will again send all 33 started of the Indianapolis 500 to New York City on Monday, May 22. The drivers again will make visits to all of the important media outlets in the Big Apple.
