Memphis Chooses Open Wheelers to Promote Races
Memphis Motorsports Park is using Erin Crocker and Kasey Kahne to promote it’s upcoming NASCAR Truck and Busch Series races. Crocker will drive in the truck race
and Kahne in the Busch Series race.
The track had Erin Crocker in town Tuesday for a Q and A session. The FOX affilite brought up what Richard Petty’s comments about women. Basically, I think Petty was right. There is no female out there right at theis moment in her carreer that is ready to compete on the Cup level. Is there a female working her way up the ladder? Yes and one day we will see top notch females in Cup, but it takes time to grow any driver reguardless of race or sex into a top notch driver. When that day comes, look for it to be an Open Wheeler.
Mears Officially at Hendrick
Rick Hendrick confirmed today that Casey Mears will drive the No. 25 for Hendrick Motorsports in 2007.
Silver Crown Coverage from Kentucky

Foyt back in Silver Crown
AJ Foyt has more Champ Car wins (67) than any other driver in USAC history. It is only natural that he became an owner of a C&R Silver Crown chassis today. Foyt plans to use the series to test up and coming drivers. AJ Foyt spent time in the Silver Crown pits while the series was at Homestead in March.
Sam Hornish Day
Since this is the first weekend off since the Indy 500, the town of Defiance, OH will celebrate with the champ. The town has declaired July 26th as “Sam Hornish Jr. Day” in Defiance.
SPEED No Longer 24/7
Say goodbye to watching your favorite Open Wheel rookies grow up in the Busch Series. According to SceneDaily.com, the network is canceling the program. The last episode is scheduled for June 19.
