Welcome to Race Day at Milwaukee 8am
WEST ALLIS, Wis. – Good morning and welcome to race day at the Milwaukee Mile for the USAC Silver Crown Series. Josh Wise is on the pole for today’s race. Wise was .084 seconds faster than Jay Drake who will start outside the pole. Today is a big day for A.J. Foyt racing, Josh Wise’s car owner. The legendary USAC driver will have a large number of guests from his IndyCar Series sponsor ABC Supply here for both the USAC and IRL race today. ABC Supply is also the title sponsor of the IndyCar race. The company is the primary sponsor on Foyt’s No. 14 Silver Crown car this weekend as well. Right now teams are working on their cars and drying off their work areas. The track had a pretty good rain storm last night but it should not affect today’s schedule. USAC Driver Introductions are scheduled for 10:15am and the race is set for 10:45am. The IndyCar Series follows at 12:45pm on ESPN.
Wisconsin loves their winter sports. Last year gold medalist Bonnie Blair was the grand marshal. This year the track is recognizing the University of Wisconsin at Madison’s men’s and women’s hockey teams. Both teams claimed NCAA Championship crowns this past season. That is all for now. I will post the results following the race. A final story will follow.
