Good Morning from Springfield 5:30am

Good Morning from Springfield 5:30am
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – Good morning from Springfield, Illinois where we are under partly cloudy skies and the temperature is 70F. The forecast for today has greatly improved overnight. The National Weather Service forecast http://www.crh.noaa.gov/forecast/MapClick.php?site=ILX&map.x=143&map.y=151 is a little behind as there is no rain on the radar headed to Springfield in the next two hours. All the precipitation is south of the area and moving east. The Weather Channel forecast http://www.weather.com/weather/local/USIL1114?from=search_city looks great. I am leaning more towards their forecast today.

It should be a great day of racing as fans will see both the USAC Silver Crown Series as well as the ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series run.

Shane Cottle was the top dog last night at Gas City winning the opener for Indiana Midget week. Points leader Jerry Coons Jr. was second and Tracy Hines was third. Jay Drake who is second in the points finished fifth.

It is time to head to the track. I will post an entry list when it becomes available. Check back for the next update around 8am.
