Hines Sets New Track Record 11:45am

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – Tracy Hines set a new track record grabbing the pole today at Springfield with a time of 29.305 at 122.846mph. The old record was 29.776 set in 2005 by Josh Wise. Hines set the time on his last lap of the group qualifying session. Dave Darland was second quick followed by Jay Drake. Local driver Justin Allgaier is fourth quick. The Springfield native is scheduled to drive in the ARCA RE/MAX Series race here tomorrow. Full results are posted at www.retechracing.com in the Live Trackside portion of the website. DuQuoin remains the fastest dirt mile in the USAC Silver Crown schedule. Tyler Walker holds the track record there at 29.138. The ARCA trucks are now on the track. We will probably not see a non-qualifiers race today. The Silver Crown feature is schedules for 1:30pm.
