Bobby Santos Shatters USAC Midget Speed Record 5pm
NEWTON, Iowa – Iowa Speedway is quickly gaining a reputation for being a fast track. Today, Bobby Santos II backed up that reputation shattering a record set by Ryan Newman for speed in a USAC Midget. Santos turned a time of 22.572 at an average of 139.553mph on the 7/8 mile oval. Newman’s record 139.265 was set on June 7th 1997 at the one mile Pikes Peak oval.
