Indy 500 and Tony Stewart/ Hopefully Not the Moving Pylon/ Jeff Simmons in for the late Paul Dana/ Paul Tracy at Talladega/ Media News/ TV Listings

Indy 500 and Tony Stewart
Tony Stewart has said it before, that one of the goals in his racing career is to win the Indianapolis 500. He accomplished another goals last season by winning the Brickyard 400. The way the schedules work out this season, there is no way a driver can race in the Indy 500 and the Coke 600 in Charlotte on the same day. Every year a reporter brings up the question of seeing Stewart and in the 500 and he basically says the same thing.

“I miss being in an IndyCar,” said Tony Stewart in a NASCAR media conference call Tuesday. “I don't know. I mean, with my age now, the earliest that I could be back in an IndyCar would be 2010. I'll be almost 40 years old by then.”

Tony Stewart says he has much respect for the drivers in the IRL and that when he does have time in his career for Indy again, he will have to have a lot of track time.

“It's hard when you're not around that to go every week to get caught up,” said the former IRL champion. “I don't know. Every year that goes by, it just seems like that's a part of my career that is kind of like a chapter in a book that seems like it's closed and we've moved on to another chapter. I don't know. I would honestly say I doubt you'll ever see me in an IndyCar again. I've learned to never say never also.”

While Stewart will not run in the Indy 500 this season, he says that he is planning to be at the Speedway during the month of May to visit with friends who he used to race with.

COMING TOMORROW: Tony Stewart previews this weekend’s race at Phoenix including a look back at his USAC days at the one-mile desert oval.

Hopefully Not the Moving Pylon
Panther Racing is going pylon orange this weekend. The famous yellow No. 4 will be orange and black for their sponsor Network LIVE. Lets hope the Panther Pack has a good race and doesn’t become a moving pylon.

Jeff Simmons in for the late Paul Dana
Jeff Simmons will start his first IndyCar Series race this weekend in the No. 17 Rahal Letterman Racing team. The Indy Pro Series driver is will drive the No. 17 in competition since the accident, which claimed the life of Paul Dana.

Paul Tracy at Talladega
The fiery Paul Tracy will tackle the high banks of Talladega next weekend. Tracy will drive the No.34 American Crew/Sport Clips Chevrolet in his second Busch Series career start.

Lets hope his teammate does not run him over like his Champ Car World Series teammate did at Long Beach.
