Open Wheelers Improve at Nashville

Open Wheelers Improve at Nashville
For the most part, it was a good day at Nashville Super Speedway for our Open Wheelers. In the prerace broadcast on FX, JJ Yeley was featured.

The discussion centered on his personal life, family and how difficult it is to win the USAC Triple Crown Championship.

The interview featured video of his USAC days. You can tell Yeley cherishes his time spent in USAC.

JJ Yeley also talked about how Tony Stewart has had a big influence on his career and how he expects all three Goe Gibbs Racing teams to do well as all three drivers have the same driving style.

JJ Yeley was a factor for most of the race but on the final restart, he did not take off quickly and slid back from third to finish fourth but still an outstanding day for the former USAC Triple Crown Champion. Carl Edwards rebounded from last weeks race at Texas to score a top five. Burney Lamar and Paul Menard took positions 7 and 9.

Aaron Fike spent part of the day in the top ten and finished the day 15th. This was an important race for Fike as his car owner is Mike Curb. Mr. Curb's company, Curb Records, is based in Nashville.

Erin Crocker was not feeling well at the beginning of the Busch race after racing the ARCA/ ReMax event earlier in the day.

Her problems got worse as she hit the wall in turn two

causing a mulit car pileup. She finished 37th. Kevin Harvick won the race.
