Tony Stewart Second at Dega
Open Wheeler Tony Stewart had one of the best cars of the day but on the final lap, Jimmy Johnson beat him to the line to win at Talladega.
Stewart had some minor damage on his right front bumper but that wouldn’t stop him from leading and then eventually finishing second. Carl Edwards came in eighth and Robby Gordon finished tenth. Not all was rosy for some Open Wheelers.
Dave Blaney was a victim of a multi car pileup in the tri-oval.
He was ok but Ryan Newman, Kasey Kahne and Ken Schrader had a tough day.

NASCAR TV On the Slide?
According to statistics in today’s issue of the Sports Business Journal, NASCAR’s TV numbers are generally down early in the 2006 season. Fontana, Las Vegas, Bristol and Texas all saw a lower rating than the 2005 season. Only the Daytona 500 and Martinsville showed a larger audience compared to 2005. While the numbers did not show a drastic drop, any loss is a bad loss in TV.
