Kaeding and Shepherd Happy but Working on Cars 3:30pm

RICHMOND, Va. – Several of the teams at the top of the USAC Silver Crown Series presented by K&N speed charts are very happy with their cars. They are just fine tuning them to the rigors of short track racing. Bud Kaeding’s team BK-Leffler Motorsports paced the first practice session. The team says they are happy with their times, they are just adjusting the brakes to fit the ¾ Richmond oval better. The same can be said for Carl Edwards/ R.E. Technologies Racing rookie Peter Shepherd. The Ford powered C&R team who is third on the speed chart, is also tweaking the brakes and changing the steering box to fit the short track of RIR. Tim Barber, driver of the No. 28 says they are working on the front end of the car and are also changing gears. They hope the changes will help propel the No. 28 to the front. The next practice session is scheduled for 4:10pm eastern.
