Chris Economaki on Wind Tunnel/ Rain Sends Kasey Kahne to Victory Lane/ Update on Kentucky Accident

Chris Economaki on Wind Tunnel
Back in May I raved about the nice piece produced for the Andretti interview. Now the good folks at Wind Tunnel with Dave Despain have taken it to the next level. This episode was shot on location and basically picked the mind of Chris Economaki. The program was absolutely incredible.

Economaki called Bob Swanson was best driver he ever saw.

He also called Tony Stewart the ultimate american race car driver. Tony did a candid Economaki impression that can’t be missed.

The funniest part of the one hour program was Chris Economaki’s story about an interview he did with AJ Foyt. ABC sent Chris Economacki to California to get an interview with AJ Foyt who was winning all of the races that year. Time came for the interview and Economacki asked why Foyt walked the dirt track? What can he see about the track by walking it? AJ Foyt responded, “I cant take a s--t without walking the track in the morning.” Classic AJ.

The program reairs at 2 and 10am eastern Monday on SPEED.

Rain Sends Kasey Kahne to Victory Lane
Kasey Kahne’s pit crew got the WoO team owner out of the pits first beating fellow Open Wheeler Carl Edwards off of pit road to take the lead before the rains came ending the Cup race today at Michigan.

Tony Stewart was hoping to rebound from a tough few weeks.

That was not the case as Jeff Green tapped Stewart sending him into the wall hard.

The reigning Cup Champion took out his frustrations on his car, banging out the damage with a sledgehammer.

Stewart’s teammate JJ Yeley went for a ride when Jamie McMurry got into Yeley.

The accident also collected Ken Schrader.

Kasey Kahne had debris on the grill and had to pit knocking him back to 38th position. Light rain came and went which allowed Kahne back on the lead lap. On what would be his final pitstop of the day, his team went for two tires to gain track position. The move worked as he beat Carl Edwards out of the pits. Edwards appeared to have the car to beat late in the race.

Heavy rain with 71 laps to go ended the race for good.

The win was Kahne’s 4th win of the season.

Cup Results Michigan
