Good Morning from Chicagoland 8am
JOLIET, Ill. – Well good morning from Chicagoland Speedway where USAC Silver Crown crews are putting the final touches on their cars before practice. The gates of the garages swung open this morning at 7am. Teams scurried about to get ready for their 9am practice session while the drivers headed off to their drivers meeting at 8am. USAC’s only practice session of the day is an hour and a half (9am-10:30am). Qualifying will follow at 10:45am. Then there is a lull un the USAC action until driver introductions at 6:10pm and the race at 6:20pm. Fourteen teams are entered for today’s event. Because practice runs back to back with qualifying, I may not have a chance to update the website until practice is over. There is a seven hour break between qualifying and the race, obviously enough time to update the website and start a photo gallery so please check back throughout the day.
