That’s a New World Record 5:20pm

NEWTON, Iowa – Darren Hagen set a new world record for fastest average speed in a sprint car today at Iowa Speedway. Daren Hagen set the new world record with a time of 21.554 at 146.145mph. Hagen’s time broke the old record set by Tracy Hines on July 3rd in 2005 at Pikes Peak International Raceway. The world record time also gives Daren Hagen the pole for tomorrow’s USAC National Sprint Car Series race. This was the second speed record to fall today. Bobby Santos III set the speed record for a USAC midget today at 139.553. USAC Silver Crown qualifying is next.
