Brief Correction/ International Flavor/ Chesson to Sport for Chesson/ Bristol gets Snow

Brief Correction
The USAC Silver Crown Series presented by K&N will utilize a normal qualifying setup. Not a best practice time as earlier reported on this website.

International Flavor
This weekend’s race at Homestead definitely has an international flavor. Media outlets from Brazil and Canada are following the Silver Crown race and are working the pits. On an IRL note, Brazilian TV will broadcast several races this year with a full major league crew and setup. The IRL events are already distributed in several countries via ESPN (international).

James to Spot for PJ
James Chesson will spot for brother P.J. Chesson this season in the IndyCar Series. According to the IRL’s website www.indycarseries.com, the pair were both nervous before the first practice session at Homestead before James cracked a joke to loosen the two up. P.J. Chesson drived the No. 91 Car Melo Honda-powered Dallara for Hemelgarn Racing. He was 20th in the last practice session. Helio Castroneves paced the session followed by Sam Hornish Jr.

Happy BD Danica
Danica Patrick is celebrating her 24th birthday today.

Snow/ Rain Plagues Bristol
Snow and rain are plaguing Bristol this weekend. Friday’s practice was a complete wash out. Radar shows light snow/rain falling right now. Qualifying is scheduled for 12pm with the race at 3pm eastern. They were able to get a practice session in this morning. Jason Leffler was the only Open Wheeler in the top ten turning in a time good for third quick. The forecast does not look great for the rest of the weekend with cold, rain and snow on the outlook until Sunday.
