Sunshine in the Morning Makes Me Slappy/ Pierce Leads First Test/ USAC “Hardcard”
Sunshine in the Morning Makes Me Slappy
Memphis, Tenn. - It is way to early to get up to catch my flight.
I had the pleasure of seeing the sunrise from terminal C at Memphis International Airport this morning.
After gazing at the beautiful sunrise over runway 36C and 36R, I ventured out to find some food. Not much to choose from this early in the morning. Corky’s (best wet ribs in Memphis) was closed. Yes, I briefly thought about having ribs at 5am. True Memphians always have BBQ on the brain. Unfortunately, we do not have a Tim Hortons in the airport unlike Winnipeg.
But then again it was 32F and no snow here this morning either. It will be good to feel warm temps again in Homestead.

USAC “Hardcard”
As I bloged about before, this weekend will be the first time USAC will use their new registration system. The front of the card looks the same,
But on the back you will notice a barcode. The registration folks will swipe your card if you have prepaid and you will be given an armband. The goal is to make the process faster. You can still sign in the old way if you didn’t prepay. USAC is trying the new system out with the Silver Crown division but may expand it to the other series.
Hornish Media Darling
Sam Hornish Jr. was picked by 11 of the 25 media members surveyed that cover the IRL to be the 2006 champion. Marco Andretti was named the favorite for Rookie of the Year.
