East Fastest/ Open Wheelers in Hotlanta/ TV Schedule
Bobby East Tops First Practice Session
USAC prodigy, Bobby East topped the first practice session of the day at Atlanta turning a time of 30.429. www.truckseries.com is reporting that East’s crew was not working on their qualifying setup during the first practice session. The website says that the team will work on that during rookie practice later today. East needs to make the field on time since the truck is not in the top 30 in points. Kraig Kinser will not have to worry about being quick but getting bumped this weekend. He is driving the No. 29 which has enough owners points to not get bumped. Kinser had a top time at California but was bumped because the truck he was driving was not in the top 30 in points.
Mike Bliss was 8th quick, Kyle Krisiloff was 11th, Terry Cook was 18th, Boston Reid 24th, Kraig Kinser 25th and Erin Crocker way 29th. Qualifying is scheduled for later today with the race tonight live on SPEED.
Newman Puts the Hot in Hotlanta
Open Wheeler Ran Newman leads all active drivers with six Atlanta Motor Speedway poles, all of them coming in the past six races at the track. Newman's average AMS start of 1.75 leads all drivers.
JJ in Different Paint
JJ Yeley will have a different paint scheme on his Cup car at Atlanta. Husqvarna will be featured as the primary sponsor of the No. 18 Chevy.
