Kevin Harvick Wins as Open Wheelers Burn the Midnight Oil at Richmond
The Busch race at Richmond was delayed by showers
but when it got underway, Jason Leffler on the pole.
With short track racing, you get a lot of sparks and cautions.
John Andretti got into a wreck early in the race on the backstretch. He would end up 19th.
Burney Lamar had a brush with the wall and finished outside the top 20.
Ryan Newman was clipped by Burney Lamar in the pits and had to return for more work. The extra time on pit road did not phase the former USAC star as he finished 5th.
A car came down on JJ Yeley going into turn three. The damage would drop him to a 31st place finish.
Kasey Kahne was too hot coming into turn one and spun himself out rather than take out Greg Biffle. The incident cost him dearly as he finished 40th.
Jason Leffler was having a great night until he went three wide into turn one.
Ryan Newman smartly backed out and Leffler slid up the track and got together with Mark McFarland. Leffler ended up 24th.
The race went quite late and the FX cameras caught this gentleman napping.
Sometime way after midnight local time, Kevin Harvick crossed the finishline, beating Jeff Burton in a close last few laps.
