Paul Dana

Paul Dana
Paul Dana was a competitor. He was a marketer, racer and husband. Most of all he was a competitor. It was his drive that secured Ethanol as a sponsor of his Indy Pro Series ride in 2004. He worked with Ethanol to insure that they were taken care of and their message was getting out. Paul took them to the IndyCar Series in 2005 with Hemelgern Racing. He worked with Ethanol, Hemelgarn and the IRL to put Ethanol in every IndyCar Series car. This season 10% of the fuel in every car will be Ethanol. Next season it will be 100%. This was because of his hard work and drive. Paul was a racer. He loved racing against the other competitors. I had the privilege of standing in victory lane at Milwaukee when he won the Pro Series driving the Hemelgarn 91 Johnson Motorsports car in 2004. He drove that car to a third place finish in the owner’s standings. He was a loving husband. His family is in my prayers today. Paul Dana was a competitor and passed away doing what he loved.

Out of respect to the family, his friends and competitors, I have suspended the blog for the day. I will have a full wrap up of today’s IRL, Cup and Wind Tunnel tomorrow. Now is a time to reflect and keep his family in our thoughts.
