The Circle City 100
The inaugural event of the Premier Racing Association now has a name, the “Circle City 100” will be held on May 17th at Indianapolis Raceway Park. The PRA has secured commitments from Mike Bliss and Jason Leffler. Big Car Series officials are expecting more than 30 cars for the event. Tickets are $20 fans and include a concert by the Dane Clark band.
Iowa Speedway Sells 1,000 Season Tickets in an Hour
A large crowd gathered in the sale Iowa town of Newton last Saturday. The crowd turned out to purchase season tickets for the new 7/8 mile Iowa Speedway. The enthusiastic crowd thrilled Iowa Speedway General Manager Todd Melfi.
“We sold more than a thousand season tickets – that’s season tickets – the first hour they were on sale,” smiled Melfi. “Ticket sales for the entire weekend were strong and, to say the least, we’re very pleased”.Folks came from as far away as western Nebraska to get their hands on the season tickets. Officials say there are still season tickets available. Individual tickets sales begin in July. When completed, the track will seat 25,000.
In other Iowa Speedway news, construction is going well and workers have built an asphalt plant on property for the 7/8 mile paved track. Construction is also ongoing on Iowa Speedway Drive. The five-lane road will handle most of the traffic to the facility.
Will AJ Foyt IV or Tracy Hines Run?
It is anyone’s guess if Tracy Hines or AJ Foyt will run this weekend for FitzBradshaw Racing. The FitzBradshaw website has not been updated since Talladega. No word if AJ Foyt IV or Tracy Hines will drive this weekend as the entry is listed as TBA.

We hear James Chesson could be close to finalizing a deal for the Freedom 100 Indy Pro Series race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Monday in the post rookie orientation news conference, PJ Chesson said that his younger brother is actually a better driver than he is. Jame Chesson is a spotter for PJ in the IndyCar Series.

If you are going to go the Indy 500 and shell out a lot of $$$, you need to do it right. The Michael Andretti Foundation is offering a once in a lifetime trip to the Indianapolis 500. The foundation is auctioning off the race package right now on eBay. The winner will participate as an honorary crew member for Michael Andretti during final practice on Carb Day and be in Michael Andretti’s pits during the running of the Indy 500. They will also receive three nights lodging, the opportunity to meet Andretti and several of the Andretti Green Racing drivers. All proceeds from the package will benefit the Sam Schmidt Paralysis Foundation. The VIP Package will be auctioned on eBay until Monday, May 15.

Eldora Owner, Tony Stewart will reward the victor with two tickets to view the 2007 Indianapolis 500 from his personal VIP Suite, outside of turn two at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. (Smoke has a little pull at the Speedway now.) Oh yea, the winner of the inaugural Ms. Eldora Speedway Pageant also gets a cash prize of $2,000. If you would like to attend the Ms. Eldora pageant, the new addion to the Big E’s lineup takes place on Thursday, June 7th, between the Nextel Prelude to the Dream on Wednesday and the 12th annual Dirt Late Model Dream on Friday and Saturday.
